The Animated Series' Creator Has Seen Your Season 2 Predictions — With Some Positive Updates

The highly-awaited second season of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel debuts on Prime Video this week, and audience theories has been rampant.

The first season introduces a large cast of characters residing in the afterlife, pits them against each other with musical numbers about their clashes, and builds tense rivalries and emotional bonds that fuel audience devotion.

The fandom's stated hopes for the new season vary widely, but certain threads recur frequently: Will Angel Dust escape his tormentor? Might we learn more about the binding agreement affecting the enigmatic Alastor? Will [favorite character] and [other character] finally get together?

"Obviously, I don't produce the show with fan service specifically in mind," the showrunner commented recently. "However I feel like me being a devotee of the series means there's a lot of it just inherently. I also want to see these things, and I hope some of these things to occur, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

She says her long-term vision is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have received approval by the production companies, which produce the series.

That might mean viewers have to be patient for some of the biggest payoffs — but they could be shocked at how fast season 2 moves, and how many of what they're anticipating happens now.

"I feel like people are going to get a lot out of it," the creator notes. "We get some firsts. I think we get some incredible disclosures, some fascinating backstories, and even just simple things, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] Audiences will experience additional musical numbers from the previously silent cast members."

She's certainly aware of the guesses and hopes about the upcoming season — especially in the format of fan bingo cards.

"I've come across a few fans make a prediction grid about the new season," she says. "Naturally I won't share it, but I've already completed a few items, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."

Hazbin Hotel the second season launches on the streaming service on October 29.
